In the Eastern Gold Belt in the 1830’s, a group of Welsh miners were on a narrow but very productive vein which seemed to play itself out. The miners continued tunneling in search of the vein for an additional forty feet before they became discouraged and left for the California Gold Rush. Our team, 150 years later, found that the vein had shifted twenty feet horizontally and continued on, uninterrupted, for over 3000 feet.
